Changelog

What actually shipped on live surfaces. No vapor entries.

Fixed: the $29 pack’s own test suite could report green with a check deleted

The Skills & Hooks Pack ships a suite that validates the ten skills before they reach your repo. Three of its checks could be deleted outright and the suite still printed 39 passed, 0 failed — each of their test fixtures was broken in a way a different check also caught, so no fixture could tell them apart. Every fixture is now broken exactly one way and asserts the reason a skill is rejected, not just that it was. The pack also ships test/mutate-skills-suite.sh, which deletes each check in turn and proves the suite goes red: 16 checks, 16 caught. Version 1.2.1 — the download is already updated.

Seven comparison pages, for the question you are actually asking

Which rung to buy, Kit against a tool you already pay for, and whether to pay at all. DIY vs $29 vs $99, Sprint vs MCP Basic, vs Cursor, vs Claude Projects, vs a free template, vs hiring a freelancer, and plugins vs skills. The free rung is first on every one of them. Compare index.

Four guides, including the hook failure that has no symptom

A 15-minute setup, hooks that actually block (exit 2 — exit 1 protects nothing, which is why a hook can look installed and stop nobody), setting up skills, and testing your own setup. Free, no purchase in the path. Guides index.

A fifth stuck-state page: hooks that never fire

The one with no error message. A hook in the wrong matcher, or exiting 1 where it needed 2, runs and changes nothing — so the setup looks configured and enforces none of it. Read it.

The machine-readable surfaces stopped lying about what you can buy

llms.txt and pricing.md are what an assistant reads when someone asks it about Kit, and they were describing a narrower ladder than the site actually sells. Both now match the live checkout, rung for rung.

Four stuck-state pages for week one with Claude Code

Nobody searches for a setup service. They search “claude code keeps asking permission” at 11pm. Four pages, one per stuck state — the permission loop, the project it forgets every session, an MCP server that will not connect, a test command it cannot find. Each one is cause, fix, and why the fix does not take. Fixes index.

A plain-language guide for people who are not engineers

What a CLAUDE.md is, why the permission prompt fires, what a finished setup actually contains, and the flat price to have one done. Written for founders, PMs, designers and ops coordinators — the people buying Setup Lite who were being handed engineer documentation. Read it.

Three Claude Code plugins listed on Sigistry

Free, installable, no Kit purchase involved: kit-ship-check (a pre-commit gate that reports PASS/FAIL per step), kit-explain-diff, and kit-storekit-check, a StoreKit pre-flight distilled from real App Store rejections.

Fixed: two $149 packs pointed at each other’s checkout

Shipping in public means the bad ones too. The structured data behind the ASO Done-for-you pack and the Preview Pack carried each other’s Stripe links — both $149, so a buyer arriving from a search result could have paid the right price for the wrong product. Found, fixed, and verified on both hosts. All ten offers now resolve to their own checkout.
